“Iran’s participation will enhance the bilateral relations between our two countries. I would like to emphasise that Serbia respects the principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran when it comes to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. In addition to our good political relations, Iran’s participation will also contribute to the strengthening of our economic relations,” Lazarević underlined.
She assessed that Expo 2027 would be an excellent opportunity for the country to present itself in the best possible light, adding that partners from Iran had already begun serious preparations.
Addressing the media, the Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o., Danilo Jerinić, thanked the Iranian side for the kind words addressed to Serbia, which, according to him, were a confirmation that Serbia, as the organiser, was on the right path.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran confirmed its participation in our Expo as early as the end of February and the beginning of March, which is a true confirmation of our good relations. For our country, this is a very important message,” Jerinić stated, noting that Expo 2027 was the fastest-filling Expo to date, and that Iran was among the first countries to have confirmed its participation.
“Bearing in mind your rich tradition in sport, music, and culture, I hope that our 93 days, which is the duration of the Expo, will be sufficient for you to showcase everything,” Jerinić said, addressing the representatives of the Iranian delegation.
Jerinić also stated that Iran was approaching its preparations for Expo 2027 with great effort and dedication, expressing confidence that the country would have a very successful and attractive exhibition.
The Commissioner of the Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Sodaif Beikzadeh, said that his country had a rich history of participation in exhibitions and had taken part in numerous world and international specialised exhibitions.
“Exhibitions have always been regarded as multifaceted international events at the global level, bringing together people from all over the world to focus on the pressing issues of human society,” Beikzadeh said.
Beikzadeh added that, at Expo 2027, the Islamic Republic of Iran would present its historical role as a bridge between civilisations and a guardian of shared human heritage, while also promoting cultural, scientific and global cooperation and strengthening friendly relations between the Government and people of Iran and the Government and people of Serbia.
