The Italian Republic Signs Participation Contract for Expo 2027 Belgrade

Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade in the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Commissioner for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Danilo Jerinic, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, and Luca Gori, Commissioner of the Italian Section for Expo 2027 Belgrade, signed today the Participation Contract of the Italian Republic for the Specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade.

The signing of this contract confirms the continuity of strong bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy and opens new opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the upcoming exhibition, which will bring together countries from around the world in Belgrade in 2027.

Reflecting on the broader context of cooperation, Lazarevic highlighted the importance of economic and institutional ties between the two countries, as well as Italy’s support to Serbia in the process of European integration.

“It is a fact that Italy has for many years been one of Serbia’s most important economic partners, with continuous growth in investments and trade exchange, as well as cooperation in the fields of science, technology, and energy, which are key to the further development of relations between our two countries,” said Lazarevic.

Speaking about the importance of Italy’s participation in Expo 2027, Luca Gori emphasized that the exhibition represents an opportunity for long-term connections between institutions, businesses, and society, as well as for strengthening Italy’s presence in the region.

“Our goal is to build long-term partnerships in the fields of economy, science, and culture through Expo partnerships that will last beyond 2027 and bring tangible benefits to all participants,” said Gori.

The role of Expo as a platform for presentation and connection was also highlighted by Danilo Jerinic, Director of EXPO 2027, who noted that Italy’s participation contributes to the quality and diversity of the exhibition.

“Italy is a country that uniquely connects tradition and innovation, from historical achievements to contemporary creative industries. We believe that our friends from Italy will present content that will authentically and inspiringly bring their country closer to visitors from all over the world,” Jerinic said.

The Specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade will be the first international exhibition of this kind in the Western Balkans and will gather more than 130 participating countries over its 93 day duration.
