21.07.2025

The journey to select the names of the Expo 2027 Belgrade mascots has entered its final stage. The second round of voting has officially concluded, with nearly 50,000 votes already cast. Once again, citizens of Serbia have demonstrated their desire to take an active role in choosing the names of the symbols that will represent the upcoming Specialised Expo in Belgrade.Following an exciting voting period in which the favorites changed from day to day, the names still in the running are: Sava and Nada, Rastko and Milica, and Momčilo and Tamara – names that have captured the public's imagination and garnered the highest number of votes.Sava and Nada, inspired by the gentle river that flows into Belgrade and the belief in goodness and a better outcome, embody the spirit of the city and symbolize the key to a brighter future. Rastko and Milica carry deep connections to Serbian tradition and culture, representing growth, progress, and innovation, alongside warmth, kindness, and harmony. The old Serbian name Momčilo, derived from the word “momče” (young boy), evokes a joyful life full of play for children, while Tamara signifies the fruit of the palm tree, an emblem of resilience, as it grows in deserts and nourishes nomads. Together, Momčilo and Tamara reflect a spirit of vitality, energy, and play that transcends borders. These charming superheroes of play will not only serve as mascots for Expo 2027, but also as ambassadors for Belgrade and all of Serbia, connecting visitors of all ages with messages of cooperation, innovation, and unity. Voting for their names continues on the official Expo 2027 Belgrade website. The winning names will be announced this fall, when we will finally meet the mascots who will guide us through the most significant event in Serbia’s recent history. If you haven’t voted yet, now is the perfect time. And if you have, this might be a great moment to remind your friends to do the same and become part of history.
