Some of the most famous Serbian Olympians shared on social networks what play is for them and what its charms are. All agree on one thing – the sport they play is not a job for them, but a game and entertainment. However, some of them showed their competitive spirit, so the saying “it is important to participate” is not always true.
Multi-award-winning taekwondo athletes Milica Mandić and Tijana Bogdanović see bonding and fostering team spirit as the most important segment of the game. Ana Bjelica, a volleyball player who competed in Tokyo and is again a member of the women’s Olympic team this year, agrees with that, stressing that unity is crucial for victory.

Judging by the video, our famous shooters, Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec, agree that the game is a good way to learn new things and prepare physically and psychologically for everything that life brings in a fun and less serious way.
Marko Podraščanin, a volleyball player, joins this great five. He will soon try to add the Olympic medal to his long list of glittering medals in Paris. Marko notes that, for him, volleyball is still fun, despite the fact that it has been his job for many years.
In 2027, our country will host EXPO 2027 Belgrade, a specialised exhibition whose rich content and theme “Play for humanity – sport and music for all” will remind us of the importance of play, not only when we grow up, but also in our everyday lives, because it is a path to discovery in science, technology, and even sports and music. The idea underlying the EXPO exhibition in Belgrade is to highlight the importance of the continuous reimagining of the world around us through the prism of play as a method of discovery, creation, analytical observation and overcoming the boundaries of the known. What is more, as we often say that Serbia is a land of sports, it will continuously promote both sports and education of a society about the benefits of sports for mental and physical health, and support the universal value of a healthy life, togetherness, team spirit and motivation for better achievements.
