10,000 APPLICATIONS FROM 119 COUNTRIES FOR EXPO PLAYMAKERS
In just three months since applications opened for the Expo 2027 volunteer programme, 10,000 candidates from 119 countries have applied to become Expo Playmakers, including 7,475 applicants from Serbia, as well as candidates from countries across the region, China, Japan, Brazil, Canada and Australia. Among the most sought-after of the 48 volunteer positions are those providing support to the marketing and protocol teams, working with international participants in their pavilions, as well as positions involving direct contact with visitors and participation in sports and educational programmes. “For me, the first 10,000 applications are above all a reason to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in us and decided to dedicate part of their time, knowledge and energy to Expo 2027,” said Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, adding that applications are still open.
The interview process for registered candidates began in early August, and following the selection process, chosen Expo Playmakers will undergo general and specialised training, including practical simulations, communication in a multicultural environment and procedures for different situations during the exhibition. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain new experience and skills, meet people from different parts of the world and interact directly with visitors and international participants. Upon completing their engagement, they will receive an internationally recognised volunteering certificate endorsed by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The volunteer platform is available at https://join.volunteer.expobelgrade2027.org/, and applications are open to adults from Serbia and abroad, as well as those who will turn 18 by 15 April 2027. Additional information is available through the contact centre at 011 2027 555 and via email at playmakers@expobelgrade2027.org.
