A Cosmic Experience at the Expo 2027 Playground: Children and Adults “Travel Through Space” Under a Digital Sky

The dome of the mobile planetarium within the Expo 2027 Playground became a window into the universe! During the “Stellar Journey” workshop, children and adults stepped together into the magical realm of outer space, experiencing what it feels like to fly among stars, planets, and galaxies – beneath a single digital sky that unites science and play.

Surrounded by breathtaking projections, visitors of all ages explored constellations such as Orion, Cassiopeia, Scorpius, and Ursa Major, discovering the myths behind their names and learning why stars are “born” and “disappear”. Through imagination and play, children discovered the basics of astronomy, while adults rediscovered that innate sense of wonder when faced with the beauty of the universe.

Participants learned how planets orbit the Sun, what makes them unique, and how the laws of physics and mathematics govern the perfect harmony of the cosmos. Older visitors explored the mysteries of black holes, nebulae, and supernovae, while younger ones learned about the Solar System, the Milky Way, and our planet as a unique home within the infinite universe.

The workshop was designed as a meeting point of science, imagination, and experience. Through visually captivating simulations, participants could see concepts such as gravity, orbit, rotation, and revolution, and experience them as part of the real world around them.

What made the programme particularly special was its ability to awaken curiosity and a spirit of discovery across generations. Children asked questions about the universe, life, and the future of exploration, while adults enjoyed the opportunity to rediscover the simple wonder of looking at the sky, this time through advanced technology that turns science into experience.

Through this event, the Expo 2027 Playground once again demonstrated its mission: to inspire, educate, and connect people through play and knowledge. As part of the preparations for Expo 2027 Belgrade under the “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All” Theme, the Playground is already giving audiences a chance to experience the spirit of the upcoming Specialised Expo. Under the digital sky of the Expo 2027 Playground, the boundary between imagination and science simply ceases to exist.
