A New Look for the Ušće Skate Park: Renovated Space for Sport, Play and Socialising
The reconstructed Ušće Skate Park was officially opened as a renovated and safe space for skateboarders, roller skaters, scooter riders and BMX cyclists, as well as everyone who wants to take part in sport. The reconstruction was initiated by EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade in cooperation with the New Belgrade Municipality and the public utility company Zelenilo-Beograd, as part of activities extending the values of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade across the city. The existing ramps were renovated, the park holds a safety certificate in accordance with European standard EN 14974, and 187 square metres of space and 150 square metres of green area were improved.
“Through the activities we are implementing ahead of Expo 2027, we wanted to leave the city spaces that will remain active before, during and after the exhibition. Skateboarding is now also an Olympic sport, but this park is not intended only for skateboarders - we can already see different generations here riding roller skates, scooters and BMX bicycles. I hope the renovated park will become another gathering place for sport and urban culture, open to everyone,” Uroš Ranković said. The park's new appearance was completed with artwork by Marko Ćulum, while sports and entertainment activities for children, young people and families were organised for the opening. The park will be handed over to Zelenilo-Beograd for maintenance.
