CHILDREN FROM THE “SERBIA IS CALLING YOU” CAMP VISIT THE EXPO 2027 PLAYGROUND

More than 400 children from the diaspora taking part in the “Serbia Is Calling You” sports and educational camp visited the EXPO 2027 Playground, where they learned about Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. This year’s camp brought together 435 children from 20 countries, as well as children from the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and includes sports and educational activities, workshops, matches, and visits to Belgrade’s tourist, cultural and historical landmarks. Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, welcomed the participants and told them that they too would have an important role as hosts during the exhibition. “Be proud of your Serbia, which succeeded, in the face of strong international competition, in winning the opportunity to welcome the whole world to Belgrade next year,” Jerinić said.

Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović stressed that the “Serbia Is Calling You” camp connects young people from different parts of the world with their country of origin and enables them to learn more about Serbia’s historical and cultural values. During their visit to the EXPO 2027 Playground, the children learned more about the history of international exhibitions, the significance and concept of Expo 2027, and the experiences awaiting them over the 93 days of the exhibition. Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade will be held from 15 May to 15 August 2027 under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, with 143 international participants and more than four million visits expected.
