Day Two of the TPM Focuses on Preparations for National Pavilions at Expo 2027

During the second day of the Technical Preparation Meeting (TPM), Expo 2027 expert teams briefed 250 delegates from 43 countries on the next steps in the construction and fitting-out of their national pavilions. The focus was on activities participating countries need to complete before work begins, construction site rules, service corridors and logistics routes, while architects, engineers and other experts went through the details required for pavilion implementation directly inside the halls. Igor Kovačević, Executive Director and Director of the International Participants Sector at EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, emphasized the importance of direct cooperation between expert teams. “We want to identify challenges together and resolve them as early as possible in order to prevent problems in practice,” Kovačević said, noting that the teams will jointly prepare 93 days of the exhibition, 8,000 events and experiences in the participating countries’ pavilions.

Representatives of participating countries said the TPM provides important information for further technical preparations as well as an opportunity to connect with other participants. Algeria’s Section Commissioner Gouti Abdelkader announced that the country would combine modern technology with its cultural and artistic heritage and praised the level of organisation, while Czech Section Commissioner Kryštof Šafer highlighted the importance of networking and cooperation between countries and pavilions. Egypt’s Section Commissioner Alaa El-Bialy announced a presentation connecting the country’s rich civilisational heritage with modern Egypt through architecture, music, art and museum content. “We want to establish a dialogue between heritage and modernity, history and the future, tradition and innovation,” El-Bialy said. The Technical Preparation Meeting runs from 1 to 3 October, while Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
