Expo 2027 Belgrade: Delegation of the Republic of Zimbabwe Visits the EXPO 2027 Playground

A delegation of the Republic of Zimbabwe, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Prof. Dr Amon Murwira, visited the EXPO 2027 Playground, where it held talks with Jagoda Lazarević, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia and Commissioner for Expo 2027 Belgrade, and Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, on preparations for Zimbabwe’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. Zimbabwe was among the first countries to confirm its participation and will present itself within the collective pavilion of the “Wonders of Africa” section. During the visit, discussions focused on the concept of the country’s presentation, the programme throughout the 93 days of the exhibition, and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Serbia and Zimbabwe. “We want to provide friendly countries such as Zimbabwe with maximum visibility, enabling them to present themselves not only to us and the Serbian public, but also to the whole world,” Lazarević emphasised.

Minister Amon Murwira noted that Expo 2027 Belgrade represents an opportunity to present Zimbabwe to the international community and further strengthen social and economic cooperation. “This is a wonderful opportunity to further strengthen people-to-people contacts between Zimbabwe and Serbia, as well as between Zimbabwe and the rest of the world,” Murwira emphasised. The visit took place at a time when Serbia and Zimbabwe are further advancing their bilateral relations, as confirmed by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation and the decision to reopen the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Belgrade. The Specialised Expo will be held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August next year.
