Expo 2027 Opens Its Doors to British Companies: Memorandum Signed with the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce

Chamber of Commerce, Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, emphasised that the Specialised Exhibition Expo 2027 Belgrade, through its business programme, represents a unique platform for the exchange of ideas and business opportunities among companies from around the world, as well as for discussions on future trends in business and technology.

“Expo 2027 is an opportunity for all British companies to network with Serbian companies and other companies from around the world, and to open up opportunities for new projects and new business after 2027,” Jerinić stated, recalling that major global companies, such as Cisco, were already supporting Expo, while many new partners were expected to join in the period ahead.

The Memorandum, signed by Jerinić and the President of the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Lord Ranger of Northwood, aims to raise awareness of the importance and visibility of Expo 2027 Belgrade within the business community of the United Kingdom and, ultimately, to strengthen economic, cultural, and trade relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United Kingdom.

Lord Ranger highlighted that the relationships built in the lead-up to Expo, and further strengthened during Expo itself, would last for years and decades, bringing mutual benefits to Serbia, the United Kingdom and all participating countries.

There are approximately 15 to 16 months remaining until the start of Expo. It is essential for companies to understand what opportunities are opening up, whom they can connect with, what kind of trade opportunities they can develop and what relationships they wish to build - and all of this takes time. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding helps us raise visibility and awareness, connect the business community, and enable companies to begin building relationships not only in the lead-up to and during Expo, but also after its conclusion,” Lord Ranger stated.

He also emphasised that the true significance of Expo lies in its long-term legacy - in the strengthening of connections and business relationships, the fostering of economic development, and the improving of infrastructure, including road and rail networks, residential facilities, and other buildings that will be repurposed after Expo and used for schools, local communities, and the economy, delivering benefits in the years and decades to come.

Through cooperation with the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and continuous dialogue with the British business community, Expo 2027 Belgrade further strengthens its position as an open international platform for economic, trade and investment dialogue, creating a bridge between companies, institutions, and markets of Serbia and the United Kingdom, with the aim that the 2027 Specialised Exhibition will not be merely an event, but a strong driver of long-term cooperation and sustainable economic legacy.
