Expo 2027: A Participating Country’s Perspective – Lukáš Parízek, Commissioner General of the Slovak Republic for Expo 2027 Belgrade
The Commissioner General of the Slovak Republic for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Lukáš Parízek, stated that this Specialised Expo has evolved into one of the world's most significant platforms for economic diplomacy and business networking, emphasising that the value of such events is measured by the long-term business relationships and opportunities they create for the domestic economy.
Addressing initial concerns and scepticism among certain segments of the public regarding pavilion costs, Parízek stressed that such questions are legitimate, but that institutions must communicate the tangible benefits more transparently. He pointed out that events of this kind enable small and medium-sized countries such as Serbia and Slovakia to establish, in one place and over several months, connections that would otherwise take years to develop through conventional channels, bringing thousands of international partners and investors within direct reach of domestic companies.
Speaking about Slovakia's participation and its exhibition titled "Slovakia – Playground of Opportunities", organised by Slovakia Travel and combining tourism, business and culture, the Slovak official emphasised that ultimate success would not depend on the physical structures themselves, but rather on the proactive engagement and concrete preparations of chambers of commerce, universities and entrepreneurs seeking to seize the opportunity to establish new business partnerships.
