The World Runs for Humanity in Belgrade

Expo 2027 Belgrade is once again proud to support the Belgrade Marathon, the largest running event in the region. With over 14,000 participants from more than 70 countries, this event promotes sport, healthy living, and symbolizes the power of unity and global connection, core values at the heart of Expo 2027.

Sport will be one of the key themes of the first International Exhibition ever held in the Western Balkans. The partnership with the Belgrade Marathon is a natural step toward positioning Serbia as a leading destination for international sporting events.

“Serbia is widely recognized for its deep passion for sport and for successfully hosting major global competitions. The Belgrade Marathon is one of those flagship events, and through this partnership, we once again affirm our vision to bring the world together in Serbia in 2027, through sport and play. This collaboration is a perfect lead-up to a landmark year in which, alongside Expo 2027 Belgrade, we will also host the 40th edition of the marathon and the European Running Championships. Together, these events will further strengthen Serbia’s reputation as a premier sports destination and showcase our renowned hospitality,” said Dušan Borovčanin, CEO of Expo 2027 Belgrade.

Along the marathon route, a variety of Expo-themed multimedia activations will energize runners and inspire them to reach the finish line, reminding everyone of the enduring value of play, perseverance, and the spirit of sport.

Expo 2027 Belgrade and the Belgrade Marathon are running together for humanity toward a future where sport, play, and unity bring people from around the globe closer together.
