Expo Caravan Arrives in Šabac: Pavilion of Play Showcases the Spirit of Mačva
The Expo Caravan – Pavilion of Play arrived in Šabac, where it brought part of the atmosphere of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade to citizens at the Square of Šabac Victims, while also showcasing the cultural heritage, tradition, music, sport and creativity of Šabac and Mačva. Danijela Vidljinović of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade emphasized that the whole of Serbia will be the host of the Expo and that cities and municipalities should actively take part in presenting the country. “Expo can be a significant development opportunity for Šabac, primarily through greater visibility for the city and the entire region, which has a great deal to offer,” Vidljinović said, noting that the “Discover Serbia” project and “Serbian House” will present the distinctive features of Serbia’s cities and regions. She also invited adult citizens of Šabac, as well as those who will turn 18 by April next year, to apply for the volunteer programme, which has so far received more than 12,000 applications from 119 countries.
Mayor of Šabac Aleksandar Pajić emphasized that the city can showcase its rich tradition and culture, as well as modern achievements, including humanoid robot production and the sporting tradition of the “Metaloplastika” handball club and “Mačva” football club. Mirjana Avramović, Master Pedagogue at EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, highlighted that educational content and organised school visits will have a special place during the 93 days of the exhibition, giving primary and secondary school students an opportunity to discover different cultures, innovations and more than 140 countries. Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027 under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” with more than four million visitors from Serbia and around the world expected.
