The Expo Caravan – Pavilion of Play continued its journey across Serbia with a visit to Kragujevac, where the spirit of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade was presented in the pedestrian zone near the Cross through the “Kragujevac on the Road of Play” programme, alongside the city’s historical, cultural, educational, industrial and sporting heritage. Igor Kovačević, Executive Director and Director of the International Participants Sector at EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, emphasised that the caravan aims to help citizens across the country understand what Expo is and what they can expect over the 93 days of the exhibition. “The goal of the Caravan is for each of us to feel, on the one hand, that we are a host of Expo, because Expo is first and foremost all of Serbia, but also that each of us can and should be an active visitor, with the opportunity to learn a great many new things and get to know countries and participants we may not previously have had the opportunity to see,” Kovačević emphasised. He added that Expo is also a business platform for Serbian companies and entrepreneurs, while local communities will also be able to present their potential through the “Serbian House”.
Through the programme, Kragujevac presented its cultural and historical heritage, tourism offer, innovation, education, young talent and sports. Danka Andonovski, Member of the City Council for International Cooperation and Local Self-Government, emphasised that Kragujevac, as the heart of Šumadija and the first capital of modern Serbia, has much to showcase as a city of history, industry, innovation, culture and education, and that opportunities are expected for connections in investment, business and international cooperation. A special segment of the programme, delivered with the support of Telekom Srbija, a platinum sponsor of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, focused on innovation and modern technological solutions. Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade will be held from 15 May to 15 August 2027, with more than 140 confirmed international participants and around four million domestic and international visitors expected.
