The Expo Caravan – Pavilion of Play arrived in Topola, where the town’s historical and cultural heritage, tradition, music, sport and young talents showcased the potential of the region and the opportunities offered by Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. Dejan Radojičić of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade emphasized that the aim of the Caravan is to involve all parts of the country in the lead-up to the Expo. “We stopped in Topola today because Expo is not only Belgrade. The host of Expo is the whole of Serbia. For Topola, Expo represents a development opportunity, a chance to promote tourism and everything this region has to offer,” Radojičić said. Through the “Discover Serbia” programme, international guests will be encouraged to continue travelling across the country after visiting the Expo, while “Serbian House” will present Serbia’s culture, tradition, gastronomy, tourism, economy, traditional crafts and modern development potential.
Radojičić invited students and parents to take advantage of organised Expo visits from 17 May to 25 June 2027, with free admission and organised transport as an extracurricular activity subject to parental consent. More than 12,000 candidates from over 119 countries have so far applied for the volunteer programme. Speaking about the Expo legacy, he noted that Serbia will retain the new Belgrade Fair, a new urban zone, infrastructure and educational facilities, while modular pavilions will be repurposed as schools, kindergartens and sports halls across Serbia. President of the Municipality of Topola Jasna Vuković emphasized that Expo 2027 is an opportunity for Topola to present its tourism, cultural and historical assets to visitors from around the world. Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027, over 93 days. The Expo Caravan is supported by platinum sponsors Telekom Srbija and Banka Poštanska štedionica, with Šabac as its next stop.
