Expo Caravan Officially Opens in Trstenik, Beginning a Major Journey Across Serbia Towards Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade

The official opening of the Expo Caravan - Pavilion of Play in Trstenik marked the beginning of its journey across Serbia in the lead-up to Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. The first stop of the caravan was opened by Uroš Ranković, Director of the Programme and Content Sector at EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, and Milena Turk, President of the Municipality of Trstenik. Ranković stressed that Trstenik, through its heritage, knowledge and creativity, truly represents the values Serbia wants to show the world. "We want the world to discover Serbia, but we also want every city in Serbia to be part of that story. That is why the Expo Caravan is setting out on its journey: to bring Expo closer to citizens and show that this is a project for the entire country," Ranković said, recalling that Serbia will host more than 140 international participants and around four million visitors from 15 May to 15 August next year.

Milena Turk, President of the Municipality of Trstenik, emphasised that it was a great honour for Trstenik to be the first stop of the Expo Caravan and an opportunity to present its people, athletes, artists, traditions, cultural heritage, natural beauty and local products. During the all-day programme, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in interactive activities relating to sport, music, innovation and knowledge, while the part of the Pavilion of Play dedicated to modern technologies was delivered with the support of Telekom Srbija, Platinum Sponsor of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. After Trstenik, the caravan will continue through more than 30 locations across Serbia. Its next stop is Vrnjačka Banja, which will present itself as a proud host of Expo 2027 on 19 July.
