Novi Pazar hosted the Expo Caravan – Pavilion of Play at Gazi Isa-beg Isaković Square, presenting the Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade and the opportunities it brings to all of Serbia. Through a programme dedicated to culture, music, sport and tradition, Novi Pazar showcased its heritage and potential, while Marija Šljivić, Deputy Director of the Finance Sector at EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, highlighted the importance of involving all parts of the country in preparations for the exhibition. “The host of the Expo is not only Belgrade, nor only the Government of the Republic of Serbia, nor EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade – the host is the whole of Serbia and all its citizens,” Šljivić emphasized. She added that the “Serbian House” will serve as a meeting place between Serbia and the world, while the “Discover Serbia” programme aims to encourage guests to continue their journey through other parts of the country after visiting the Expo. She also noted that more than 10,000 candidates from 119 countries have so far applied for the Expo Playmakers programme.
Mayor of Novi Pazar Nihat Biševac emphasized that Expo 2027 is an opportunity for the city to present its tourism, cultural and economic potential, including Christian and Islamic cultural and historical monuments, the natural and tourism attractions of the surrounding area, athletes, traditional crafts and the local economy. The programme featured KUD “Golija”, KUD mladih Novi Pazar, KUD “Ras” and the “Rašankice” choir, as well as presentations of traditional hand embroidery, leatherworking and handicrafts, while the sports segment brought together successful athletes in athletics, boxing and kickboxing. With the support of Telekom Srbija, platinum sponsor of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, a dedicated space was also organised for innovations, modern technologies and digital solutions. Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027, with more than 140 confirmed international participants and around four million domestic and international visitors expected.
