19.10.2026

The Ministry of Culture selected 58 projects in its call for cultural and artistic programmes within Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. The projects were submitted by arts organisations, cultural institutions and independent artists working in visual and dramatic arts, music, dance, film and other fields. The call opened on 29 May, applications were accepted until 10 July 2026, and a total of 272 applications were received. The supported projects come from more than 20 cities and towns across Serbia, from Subotica to Negotin, Sjenica, Šabac and Niš, while accessibility for different audience groups is an important part of the programme.

The programme includes exploration of cultural connections between Serbia and South Korea, participation by thriller author Harlan Coben, a performance by pianist Anika Vavić and dancers from Jersey Ballet de Jersey, and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony performed by the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, the Josif Marinković choir and soloists. The Belgrade Children's Cultural Centre plans to bring together around 2,000 participants from several countries, while the Niš Student Cultural Centre will gather more than 200 artists. Selected programmes also include Max Dax's Work Hard - Play Hard project, the Merlinka Festival, an inclusive programme by Šabac Theatre, a presentation of Maga Magazinović's legacy and an exhibition on the development of techno culture in Serbia.
