Girls Discover the World of Football at the Football Association of Serbia Workshop at the Expo 2027 Playground
More than 60 pre-school girls from Belgrade kindergartens discovered the world of football through specially designed workshops of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) at the Expo 2027 Playground, as part of the UEFA Disney Playmakers programme promoting football for girls.
In Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair, an innovative space dedicated to Expo 2027, where play, imagination, and inclusiveness meet sporting spirit, the girls, together with FSS coach-educators, explored the exciting world of football through fun, togetherness, and learning.
The youngest football enthusiasts gained valuable insights into fair play in sport and in life, as well as what “offside behaviour” means in society. At the same time, during the art workshop, they drew and coloured their specially designed football passports. The girls also took their first steps with the ball, showing not only that football is a sport for them as well, but also that play naturally lives in children from an early age.
“We were delighted to support the workshops of the Football Association of Serbia and the UEFA Disney Playmakers programme, as we recognised in them the original sporting spirit and inclusive character of the first International Exhibition in the Western Balkans. We are very pleased that a large number of girls were able to gain useful knowledge about football, the most popular sport in the world, right here at the Expo 2027 Playground, where play is at the heart of the human experience that connects us all. We will continue to host similar events in the future and, thus, build a positive atmosphere in the run-up to the great game for humanity in less than two years,” stated Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. The educational, artistic, and physical workshops dedicated to girls’ football within the UEFA Disney Playmakers programme were organised by the Football Association of Serbia as part of UEFA Grassroots Week.
The Expo 2027 Playground is open to visitors every day except Monday, from 10 AM to 10 PM. Entrance is free.
