Interviews Begin with Expo Playmakers Candidates from More Than 60 Countries

During the week marking International Youth Day, the first interviews began with candidates for Expo Playmakers, the future volunteers of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. The interviews are being held in person and online at the volunteer centre within EXPO 2027 Playground. More than 9,000 candidates have applied so far, including 1,200 foreign nationals from 62 countries around the world. Future Expo Playmakers will be able to take on 48 different volunteer roles, with particular interest in protocol, cooperation with international participants, marketing and security. “We opened applications one year in advance, on 15 May 2026. We are not closing applications, so anyone who has not applied yet can still do so,” said Nina Stojanović, Coordinator of the Expo Playmakers Volunteer Programme, noting that contracts with volunteers are planned to be signed in April 2027.

Candidates who successfully complete the interview will undergo a training programme, ranging from common basic training to specialised training sessions and simulations of real-life situations, while previous volunteering experience is not required.

Playmakers will welcome guests, assist international delegations, guide visitors and support the organisational team. Upon completing their engagement, they will receive an internationally recognised certificate developed with the support of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The candidates include Maja Naumović, who applied for a position in the Marketing Sector, and Milica Naumović, an international relations student in Shanghai, who applied for a position in the Protocol Sector. Applications for the volunteer programme remain open through the official website of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade and the volunteer platform.
