Iran’s Toy Industry Gears Up for Expo 2027 Belgrade with a Focus on Cultural Heritage and "Play for Humanity"

In alignment with the theme of Expo 2027 Belgrade, "Play for Humanity, Sport and Music for All " the Executive Committee for Iran’s Participation in Expo 2027 has officially launched a strategic initiative to showcase the nation’s rich cultural heritage through the medium of Toy.

In accordance with the committee's decisions, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon) hosted a high-level symposium gathering leading Iranian toy designers and manufacturers. The event aimed to mobilize the industry’s capacity to produce high-quality, culturally resonant toys specifically for the Iranian pavilion at Expo 2027.

Mohammad Mahdi Tondgoyan, Deputy Commissioner of the Iranian Section for Expo 2027, addressed the attendees, outlining the significance of Iran’s participation. He emphasized that the Iranian presence at the Belgrade Expo would go beyond mere exhibition, focusing on the deep-rooted values and traditions that define the Iranian identity. Mr. Tondgoyan urged manufacturers to integrate these cultural elements into their products, creating engaging and meaningful toys that align with the core philosophy of "Play for Humanity."

"Our goal is to present a narrative of Iran that resonates with the global community," stated Mr. Tondgoyan. "By blending traditional aesthetics with modern playability, we aim to offer visitors at Expo 2027 Belgrade an immersive experience that celebrates creativity, music, and the universal language of play."

Ms. Leila Babaei, Director General of Constructive Entertainment and Computer Games at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon), reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to supporting this vision. She announced that Kanoon, as the primary authority governing the toy industry in Iran, will provide comprehensive support by offering expert guidance in design development and overseeing the production process to ensure the highest quality standards. This will ensure that the Iranian toys presented in Belgrade serve as authentic and impactful ambassadors of Persian culture and art on the international stage. With preparations now underway, the Iranian toy industry is set to play a pivotal role in the country’s pavilion, transforming the visitor experience into a journey of cultural discovery through the lens of innovation and play.
