Children Painted Their Own Flag in the Expo 2027 Playground on the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag

Primary school pupils from Belgrade today, as part of a special art workshop dedicated to the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag in the Expo 2027 Playground, showcased their artistic skills by painting their own flag, inspired by play as the main theme of Expo 2027.

On a large canvas, with the help of paints and brushes, the children contributed to the celebration of today’s holiday by jointly painting their flag of imagination, childhood, play, and freedom.

Transforming the Expo 2027 Playground in Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair into an art studio, the boys and girls, guided by national pride and love for their country, painted the canvas with the colours of imagination – depicting everything that brings them joy, inspires them, and invites them to play in everyday life.

“Through today’s art workshop in the Expo 2027 Playground, on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, we wanted to use play and imagination to bring children closer to the significance of this holiday, as well as to highlight how important the preservation of a country’s and a people’s identity and symbols is. At the same time, inspired by the colours and by Expo 2027’s very theme, the children had the opportunity during today’s workshop to design and paint their vision of the largest international event, which will take place in Serbia in just under two years,” stated Danilo Jerinić, CEO of Expo 2027 Belgrade LLC.

The art workshops are just one segment of the rich programme of the Expo 2027 Playground, a place where the playful spirit of the first International Exhibition in the Western Balkans can already be felt. Visitors of all generations will be able to enjoy spectacular science workshops, sports, music and cultural events, and find their own call to join the play for humanity in 2027.
