Memorandum Signed Between Expo 2027 and the City of Novi Sad: Novi Sad Volunteers Programme Launched

The City of Novi Sad and EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation at the opening of the Sports and Youth Fair, launching the Novi Sad Volunteers programme. The memorandum was signed by company Director Danilo Jerinić and Novi Sad Mayor Žarko Mićin. Through information and promotional activities, workshops and meetings with young people, the programme will present opportunities to volunteer at Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, whose volunteer programme has so far received more than 16,000 applications from over 140 countries. The invitation is open to young people from Novi Sad and those who will turn 18 by April next year.

“For us, volunteers are not merely operational support in delivering the event, but the finest face of Serbia that we want to present to the world next year in Belgrade,” Jerinić said. Žarko Mićin highlighted the programme's importance in the year when Novi Sad holds the title of European City of Sport, after previously being European Youth Capital. The Expo 2027 - Open Doors panel on major events as drivers of development was also held during the Fair, while visitors on 9 and 10 October will be able to learn about participation requirements and the application process. The programme also focuses on the long-term development of volunteering, strengthening young people's skills and connecting organisations.
