Republic of Austria Signs Participation Agreement for Expo 2027 Belgrade

The Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Commissioner for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Jagoda Lazarević, Director of EXPO 2027 Ltd. Belgrade, Danilo Jerinić, and Commissioner General of the Republic of Austria’s Section for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Philipp Gady, signed today the Participation Agreement of the Republic of Austria at the Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027 Belgrade.

Addressing the media, Lazarević emphasized that Austria is a key political and economic partner of Serbia, with strong historical, cultural, and interpersonal ties, as well as a large Serbian diaspora that has lived in Austria for decades.

Austria is one of the most important political and economic partners of the Republic of Serbia, and Expo 2027 Belgrade represents an outstanding opportunity to further strengthen our bilateral relations and create new avenues for cooperation, Lazarević stated.

Philipp Gady, Commissioner General of the Republic of Austria’s Section for Expo 2027 Belgrade, assessed that the signing of the agreement marks an important step for both Austria and the region. He highlighted that this is the first specialized Expo in the region and an exceptional opportunity to further position the Western Balkans on the international stage.

Austria sees this event as a unique opportunity to showcase its innovations, while also building bridges in business, culture, and society, and deepening relationships with partners in the region and beyond,” Gady emphasized, adding that there is already strong interest from both the public and the business community in participating in the exhibition.

Director of EXPO 2027 Ltd. Belgrade, Danilo Jerinić, particularly underlined that Austria’s participation is of great importance for the exhibition, given that it is one of Serbia’s key economic partners.

With its presence at Expo 2027 Belgrade, Austria contributes to the diversity and quality of the exhibition. I am confident that this cooperation will open new opportunities for strengthening relations and launching joint projects that will shape the future of our countries,” Jerinić concluded.
