Republic of Slovenia Signs Participation Contract for Expo 2027 Belgrade

Jagoda Lazarević, Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade in the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Commissioner for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, and Saša Lavrič, Section Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia for Expo 2027 Belgrade, signed the Participation Contract of the Republic of Slovenia for Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade at the EXPO 2027 Playground. The signing was also attended by Dr Anže Logar, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and Minister of the Economy, Labour and Sport. Slovenia is among the first countries from the Western Balkans region to sign the Participation Contract, and its participation opens additional opportunities to strengthen existing ties, connect economies and companies, and develop new partnerships and joint projects. “Slovenia is an exceptionally important economic partner for us, and I believe that Expo will further contribute to strengthening our relations,” Lazarević said.

Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, emphasized that Expo 2027 represents an economic platform for connecting companies, launching new projects and creating business opportunities, noting that Slovenian company “Intereuropa” had been selected as the Expo’s logistics partner and that there is strong interest among Slovenian citizens in the volunteer programme. Saša Lavrič said Slovenia would strive to present itself as a country of knowledge, ambition, sport and music. Following the signing, the Serbian and Slovenian delegations, joined by Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Đuro Macut, toured the Expo 2027 construction site. Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027 and, over 93 days, will bring together countries, international organisations, companies and visitors from around the world.
