Saint-Gobain Shows Interest in Expo 2027: Company Executive Board and Architecture Students Visit Expo 2027 Playground

A delegation of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s leading companies in sustainable construction, visited Expo 2027 Playground during its stay in Belgrade for the international Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2026. During the visit, the Expo 2027 master plan, the development of the site in Surčin and the project’s long-term legacy were presented, while discussions also focused on potential cooperation with participants in this prestigious international programme.

The visit was organised as part of the international student competition, which this year brings together representatives from 34 countries and was first launched in Serbia in 2004. Company representatives, together with architecture students, were introduced to the development plans for Expo 2027 and its significance for sustainable construction and urban transformation.

“We are particularly pleased that the international architecture student competition, which has brought together more than 1,400 architecture students from around the world, is being held in Belgrade this year. Today, we also discussed the possibility of enabling students whose projects receive awards to present their work during Expo 2027. This would be a unique opportunity for them to showcase their ideas and projects before more than 140 international participants and a large number of visitors from around the world,” said Dušan Borovčanin, Adviser to the CEO of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Beograd for International Relations and Cooperation.
