Serbia has been elected to the Information and Communication Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE)

Serbia has been elected to the Information and Communication Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), reflecting the confidence of BIE Member States in Serbia’s active role within the Organisation.
For Serbia, this election has two-fold significance. It reinforces Serbia’s engagement in the BIE, demonstrating its active participation beyond its role as an upcoming host, while also giving Serbia a direct role in shaping the BIE’s communication strategy at a key moment ahead of Expo 2027 Belgrade as well as Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
“For Serbia, this election is very important. Above all, it represents a strong vote of confidence from BIE Member States, who recognised Serbia’s credible, constructive role in BIE’s activities. At the same time, this position allows Serbia not only to demonstrate its active engagement beyond its role as the upcoming Expo host, but also to contribute directly to shaping the global communication strategy of the BIE and share our insights with the Member States as the country currently implementing the next Specialised Expo“, said Mr. Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
The Information and Communication Committee of the BIE is composed of nine Member States. It plays a central role in shaping how Expos are presented to the world by defining the communication strategy of the BIE as well as advising Expo organisers on their communication and outreach plans. For the next two years, the work of the Committee will be led under the chairmanship of Gabon.
