Serbia's Best Secondary School Innovations to Be Presented to the World at Expo 2027

The national competition "Idea - Action - Innovation" was presented today at the EXPO 2027 Playground in Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair to teachers and students from more than 200 secondary schools, giving young people from Serbia an opportunity to develop their ideas and present them internationally at Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade. The competition was launched by the Office for Dual Education and the National Qualifications Framework, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation and in partnership with the network of science and technology parks in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Čačak and Kragujevac. It is open to students from all secondary schools in Serbia, regardless of their educational profile, until 15 May 2026. The most successful ideas will be presented at Expo 2027 Belgrade to an international audience and participants from more than 130 countries. "Today's economy expects not only sustainability from young people, but above all innovation. That is why it is important for education to enable young people to develop their ideas through teamwork, communication and the practical application of knowledge. This competition gives them precisely the opportunity to shape their innovations into concrete solutions and present them to the world at Expo 2027 Belgrade," said Prof. Dr Gabriela Grujić, Director of the Office for Dual Education and the National Qualifications Framework.

Danilo Jerinić, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, stressed that the best ideas would not remain in classrooms but would be given the opportunity to face the world. "This is a call with a clear outcome. The best ideas will not remain in classrooms - they will go out into the world. That is why there is only one real question today: will your idea remain an idea, or will it become something that changes things? Expo 2027 Belgrade gives you a space to present your knowledge, creativity and innovative potential on the global stage. This is an opportunity to take the first step and turn your ideas into concrete projects with real-world applications," Jerinić said. He added that the competition is an important platform for young people and that dual education plays a key role by connecting theory and practice. The event also presented the Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade volunteer programme as an opportunity for young people to gain practical knowledge, develop professional skills and take part in organising one of the most important international events.
