Slovakia Confirms Participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade

04.11.2025

Slovakia has officially confirmed its participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade, joining 127 countries under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All” from May 15 to August 15, 2027. For Slovakia, the event presents an opportunity to showcase itself as a country where creativity, movement, and humanity converge, a place that combines emotion, experience, and innovation. Through its participation, Slovakia will share its authentic story with the world from the heart of Europe.

Bilateral relations between Serbia and Slovakia, established over a century ago in 1918, have been marked by a traditional friendship and closeness between the two nations, which have historically supported each other. The Slovak national minority in Serbia and the Serbian minority in Slovakia play a special role in fostering these relations, and Expo 2027 will serve as an ideal platform to bring the two countries even closer together.

We are delighted that Slovakia, by confirming its participation in Expo 2027 – the largest event in the history of our country – has once again demonstrated its genuine friendship with Serbia. We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase the beauty of Slovakia through play, music, and sport from Belgrade to the world, and we are confident that their program will captivate visitors. We warmly welcome their decision to join the Play for Humanity initiative and invite other European countries to come to Serbia in less than two years,” said Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 doo Belgrade.

Connecting through Emotion and Experience

Slovakia’s participation in Expo 2027 also reflects its ambition to connect people through shared experiences and emotion. The Slovak pavilion will highlight the harmony between tradition and modernity, from the rhythms of folk and contemporary music to the movement of sport and nature. Visitors will experience Slovakia as a destination where authenticity meets innovation, and where community, talent, and creativity define the spirit of the nation.

The pavilion will invite people to explore how Slovakia plays for humanity by inspiring, connecting, and sharing values that transcend borders.

“Expo 2027 gives Slovakia an extraordinary opportunity to show who we truly are. A country that lives through creativity, movement, and the shared joy of discovery,” said Matej Fekete, CEO of Slovakia Travel. “Our goal is to let visitors not only see Slovakia but truly feel it, through sound, movement, and the human stories behind them.”

A Global Stage for a Local Story

The country’s participation is not only about presentation, but also about partnership, strengthening cultural, business, and tourism relations across Europe and beyond, showcasing Slovakia as a country where inspiration happens naturally, where every experience tells a story, and where humanity is the real attraction.

“I see Expo 2027 in Belgrade as a great opportunity for Slovakia to present its potential in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, and sports. I believe that through this exhibition we will be able to present Slovakia to the whole world, deepen our partnership and cooperation with Serbia, but also strengthen the position and image of Slovakia in the broader regional context within the Balkans,” said the Commissioner for Slovakia at Expo 2027 Belgrade, Lukáš Parízek.

Slovakia’s participation in Expo 2027 is more than a presentation. It is an invitation. An invitation to discover a country where music moves you, nature grounds you, and people inspire you. A country where humanity is at the heart of every story.
