The Days of Srpska in Serbia: Tourism and Business Environment of Banja Luka Showcased at the Expo 2027 Playground

The tourism and business environment of Banja Luka was presented at the Expo 2027 Playground, in Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair, within the framework of the “Days of Srpska in Serbia” event.

At the event hosted by the “Tourist Organisation of the City of Banja Luka”, the key tourism potential of the main administrative centre of the Republic of Srpska was showcased across a variety of segments – from adventure, event, and health tourism, through its rich gastronomy, to accommodation capacities and travel agencies.

During her address at the conference, the Acting Director of the Tourist Organisation of Banja Luka, Minja Šurlan, underlined that the forthcoming Specialised Expo 2027 will represent a major opportunity for the region to take a significant step forward in the field of tourism.

Banja Luka and the Republic of Srpska are fully aware that Expo 2027 is a rare opportunity for the region, and therefore, we are working intensively on strengthening our tourism and accommodation capacities to be ready to welcome 2027. The arrival of more than four million visitors to Serbia inspires us to work diligently and to create an offer attractive enough to ensure that at least a portion of tourists, during the three months from May to August 2027, will cross the River Drina and come to us. Banja Luka has a great deal to offer, and we are delighted that Belgrade and Serbia will provide us with the chance to present our finest face to the world,” she added.

As part of the programme, business meetings were also held, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises from Banja Luka to connect directly with potential partners in Serbia, to establish new contacts and strengthen business cooperation.

Business and industry will be among the key elements of the first International Exhibition in the Western Balkans – an opportunity that the Republic of Srpska must not miss, emphasised Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 doo Belgrade.

Serbia and Republic of Srpska are bound by inseparable political, economic, business, cultural and historical ties, and we are therefore very pleased that at the Expo 2027 Playground, a true testing ground for all that awaits us in less than two years in Belgrade, we were able to host our friends from Banja Luka and to discover its rich tourism and business potential. Expo 2027 will undoubtedly be a turning point for the Western Balkans, offering a unique opportunity to take a step forward and connect with the world. We are encouraged to see that Banja Luka is preparing seriously for this unprecedented event, and we will make every effort to ensure that the map of the future shaped by Expo will include not only Serbia, but the Republic of Srpska as well,” he said.

“The Days of Srpska in Serbia” is a project launched in 2013 to present the Republic of Srpska and its artistic, cultural, scientific, and business potential to Serbia and its citizens in an always new and unique manner. This year’s edition, the 13th in a row, will continue until 30 September.

The Expo 2027 Playground is open to visitors every day except Monday, from 10 AM to 10 PM.
