Greece Officially Confirms Participation at EXPO 2027

The Hellenic Republic, one of the world’s oldest nations and the cradle of modern civilization and the Olympic Games, situated on the southern tip of Balkan Peninsula and bordered by three seas, has officially confirmed its participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade – the first International Exhibition in the Western Balkans – under the theme: “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.”

Greece has been a regular participant in International Exhibitions since the Great Exhibition of London in 1851 and was also one of the first signatories of the 1928 Paris Convention, which established the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Its pavilions have received numerous awards, most recently at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza and Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

Serbia and Greece have enjoyed friendly and cordial diplomatic relations for nearly a century and a half, dating back to 1879. The two countries share deep historical, religious, political, and economic ties, and Greece remains one of the most popular tourist destinations among Serbian citizens. Its participation in Expo 2027 presents yet another opportunity to strengthen these exceptional relations, and there is no doubt that the Greek pavilion will be among the most visited.

“We are truly delighted to welcome our dear friends from Greece, who will undoubtedly offer one of the most vibrant and engaging programs at the biggest event in Serbia’s history. Greek culture is highly respected and beloved in our country, and we are overjoyed that in 2027 Belgrade will present the richness and evolution of Greek culture throughout the years—spanning from ancient times to the modern era, a diverse and immersive program of activities that engages all the senses and appeals to a wide range of visitors” said Dušan Borovčanin, CEO of Expo 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade.

Expo 2027 Belgrade will be held from May 15 to August 15, 2027, with participation from over 120 countries. The Expo is expected to attract more than four million visitors over its 93-day duration.
