VALUABLE EXPERIENCES FOR THE ORGANIZERS OF EXPO 2027 BELGRADE
Narmin Jarchalova, the Chief Operating Officer of the international climate conference COP29 held last year in Azerbaijan, together with her team visited Belgrade and met with the organizers of the Specialized Expo EXPO 2027 Belgrade to exchange experiences in organizing large international events.
As an event that brought together more than fifty thousand delegates including over a hundred world leaders and high level government officials from various parts of the world on November 11-22, COP29 set standards in terms of careful planning and flawless execution, as well as for legacy in the field of sustainability.
“COP, as the largest international climate conference, had a significant socio-economic impact on our country – in addition to contributing to the capacity building, the development of human capital and the creation of thousands of new jobs across all sectors of organization. The long term impact on the growth of the public sector, tourism and extended relations with many countries demonstrated the role of this event as an important economic driver,” said Jarchalova, who also managed the Azerbaijani pavilion at several Expos.
“International exhibitions, such as COP29, represent an example of a major global event that has the power to drive significant changes at both the regional and global levels,” said Dušan Borovčanin, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade. He reminded that during COP29, an event was held to present EXPO 2027 Belgrade. “Serbia’s participation and the presentation of EXPO 2027 during COP29 was an exceptional opportunity to present Serbia as a country dedicated to sustainable development and environmental protection.”
